I enjoy intense thrillers with a good story. The Dead Center is insanely nuts with a deep sense that it’s going somewhere. Movies set in hospitals are always a good premise for horror and this is one of them.
The Dead Center is an indie horror film written by writer-director Billy Senese. All hell breaks loose when a deceased suicide victim suddenly wakes up.
Be prepared to be spooked because there are a few creepy scenes in this movie that could haunt you, especially if you have problems sleeping at night or if you have a history of depression or mental illness. Although, it won’t necessarily spook you if you can handle movies about mental institutions.
The Storyline
The Dead Center is a psychotic thriller about a doctor trying to find out what’s going on with a patient brought into an emergency Psych ward. The movie starts off by showing a dead body in a morgue but then it comes to life and ends up in a hospital bed. No one knows where the patient has come from so he is transferred to the Psych ward. The Psychiatric doctor begins investigating the patient and finds out things he cannot make sense of.
The Dead Center is a freaky and intense movie. I found it disturbing but others might enjoy a horror-thriller late at night.
I recommend The Dead Center and rate it 7 out of 10. Rotten Tomatoes rates it at 94% but the audience rates it 47%.
