I watched a movie called Dragonfly starring Kevin Costner and Kathy Bates. I watched it on Netflix last night. Have you seen it?
Dragonfly is a 2002 movie. It has an interesting story with a supernatural feel to it.
Kevin Costner plays a Doctor named Joe Darrow, who has lost his pregnant wife whilst she was working in South America. He mourns his wife, Emily, terribly who was also a Doctor at the hospital where he works. He starts to get messages from his wife from children at the hospital who have had near death experiences. They tell him that Emily has a message for him and Joe tries to figure out what she is trying to convey to him. She wants him to go somewhere, but he cannot work out to where.
Dragonfly is a sensitive movie with a surprise ending. I thought Kevin Costner played his part brilliantly. He portrayed his character very well. He shows us how devastating a person can get when they lose a loved one and how they can be convinced that they are trying to contact us from another plane of existence. In my opinion, Kevin Costner is truly a great actor to portray himself in such a desperate state.
The title of the movie was named Dragonfly, because his wife loved dragonflies and she has an insect birthmark on her shoulder. During the movie, there is a freaky moment where Joe sees Emily's dragonfly paraphernalia hurl themselves off shelves. He realizes that this must be a sign from her. Of course, everyone thinks he is crazy and that he certainly must be going nuts.
In truth, I think Dragonfly is worth watching without a doubt. It is immensely and emotionally a movie with a thrilling storyline. I recommend it if you haven't seen it already.
I rate Dragonfly 8 out of 10.
