Will Negan Survive on The Walking Dead Now That He is Out of His Cell?

No matter what happens on The Walking Dead and even though Rick Grimes is no longer around, I will still keep on watching the show because I love everything about it.

I looked up to Rick Grimes but now I will look up to Negan. I hope Negan (played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan) has been saved from his demons and he is now the man who Carl Grimes wanted him to be!

The Walking Dead lost Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and I thought that this change would seriously demise the show. Instead, the story moved to a few years later. So, will Negan survive in the future? Will we see another death very soon? And what will Negan do now that he has escaped his cell and is living amongst Rick Grimes' people?

Jeffrey Dean Morgan who plays Negan has made an appearance on the hit tv series Supernatural which he starred in a few years ago. He played the Winchester brothers’ father and he reappeared in Supernatural just recently. So, was that a one-off or not? Will it be his last appearance on The Walking Dead or is he there to stay?

I believe he will be a big personality in The Walking Dead during season 10.

I personally like watching him in both tv shows and I hope he can do both if it’s possible. So, I guess we will see.

Of course, The Walking Dead is starting to come together. Negan is finally out of his cell but is he ready for what’s to come? Can he survive his time out of his cell or will he end up back where he started?

He didn’t seem to like killing walkers again and it did seem like he was making his way back to Alexandria when he bumped into Judith!

He eventually went back to his cell but now he's out again! He was given the chance to survive and now he is trying to get away with the others. He saved Judith in the vicious snowstorm in the last episode of season 9 and Mishonne was eternally grateful to him. Will it get better for Negan in season 10? Will people forget what he did in the past? Anything is possible but surely not everyone will forget.

The Walking Dead Showrunner Angela Kang said, "He's not a saint," she told Entertainment Weekly. "There are times where he's suppressing the worst thoughts that he has in his head because I do think that that's a part of him. He knows how to put on a show. He's a showman, right? But that doesn't mean that the person that he was for however many years before the apocalypse started just disappeared. I think that that's a really important thing for the audience and for us writers to keep in mind going forward.

"We still have the leeway to play different kinds of stories for him and show the moments where there are more redeemable aspects of him because I think that's always been important to us on the show."

Kang also added, "so much time has passed". How can he be exactly the same person that he was at the end of the All-Out War? He's trying to become a part of this community now. So what does that mean?" she said.

"But Negan is Negan. The fun of Negan is that he has elements of him that are a little unpredictable. He's a little raw, he's a little inappropriate, he definitely has an edge. To me, you can't strip away those things that are the defining characteristics of him, because otherwise what you're really doing is creating a new character."

I hope Negan can become someone other than who he was before. I am rooting for him. Are you?

I want Negan to survive and become a person that people will look up to, but can he do that? I suppose we will have to wait and see.

Negan has been cruel, stubborn and very aggressive in past episodes but he could have been reborn by now! Could it be that Judith has mellowed him over the years? Didn’t he take a liking to Carl in the past?

I believe Negan could be a great help to the group but can some of them get on with him. After all, he did kill some of their closest friends a few years ago. So can they forgive him? Can Maggie, Michonne, Daryl, Rosita or Carol forgive him for taking away the people they loved?

We have already seen how Maggie visited Negan in his cell. She couldn’t go through with her intention of killing because he confessed that he had done wrong. She let him live when she had the chance to kill him. She could have shot him but she didn’t! So, can the others forgive him too?

We know that Rick and Michonne honored Carl’s wishes to keep Negan alive but we don’t understand it yet. It seemed that Carl had a vision of what Negan might become one day. Perhaps, Negan will be the new leader of the Hilltop unless Maggie comes back. Wouldn’t that be cool!

Since episode 10 and 11 from Season 9, we now know that there's another group out there. They are like nothing we have ever seen. So, perhaps, the Hilltop, Alexandria and the Kingdom will need Negan to work things out for them or to be brave! The time is coming for Negan to step up once again and defend humanity. Isn't that what everyone wants? I think the Hilltop could benefit from Negan's help.

Of course, anything is possible in The Walking Dead right now. Judith seems to have faith in Negan so he might just end up helping them all, especially, with the new group that is set to ruin them. We know that Alpha is devious and harsh. She couldn't get her daughter back so she decided to kill some of the people her daughter went off with including Henry. So, will Negan die in the next season or will he replace Rick Grimes? I believe he will live on to be someone better and be part of Judith's life! Someone for her to look up to!

I have faith in Negan and I hope he is here to stay in The Walking Dead!
