The story
The Affair is set in Montauk in New York, a village at the east end of the Long Island peninsula where its beaches are known for its strong Atlantic surf. There in Montauk lives the main character of Alison (played by Ruth Wilson) and her husband Cole (played by Joshua Jackson). Alison meets Noah (played by Dominic West) on the beach one night. Noah lives in the city of New York with his wife, Helen (played by Maura Tierney), and four children but they are visiting her parents for the holidays in Montauk. Noah hates visiting them and so he is bored until he meets Alison. From there a fiery affair starts which turns the story into a thrilling twist of events that will draw you in and make you want to know what will happen next.
Noah is an author who is looking for a story for his second book, so he tells Helen he is doing some research for his next book when he starts to see Alison. The story moves forward and becomes increasingly interesting when their affair starts to create problems.
The Affair is a drama tv series that’s binge-worthy and dramatically thrilling. The character set up is incredibly entertaining along with the great performances from each actor and actress. I found the tv show exciting to watch and astoundingly addictive. Every episode kept me on the edge of my seat every time. I recommend it. It might be more appealing to women but it can be for everyone too.
There are five seasons of The Affair and you can watch it on Amazon Prime or if you are in the UK you can watch it on Sky catchup. It is, unfortunately, not available on Netflix.
I rate The Affair 9 out of 10. Rotten Tomatoes rates it 86% and the audience rate is 80%. IMDB rates it 7.9 out of 10. TV.com rates it 8.5 out of 10.
